Where to party this long weekend in Sydney and Melbourne

MELBOURNE

Thursday September 29

Smalltown feat. Bicep and Isaac Tichauer @ Brown Alley
Smalltown can always be trusted for an excellent long weekend kick-off, and this Thursday’s edition looks to follow the trend. This night is headlined by Belfast’s own Bicep, whose label Feel My Bicep has delivered some serious dancefloor heat in recent times. Also on the bill is Sydney talent Isaac Tichauer, whose remix of Bicep’s Higher Level was thoroughly rinsed by DJs far and wide. Tickets have sold out to this one, but a very small allocation will be available to early arrivals.

Animals Dancing feat. Jan Schulte @ The Mercat Basement
An Animals Dancing party is a guaranteed good time, particularly when you have three days to recover. This time around, the collective is bringing Düsseldorf native Jan Schulte to the up-close and personal Mercat Basement (which will sadly close its doors in February). Schulte is a resident at his hometown’s influential club Salon Des Amateurs, and he’s a productive producer too, working under aliases including Wolf Müller and Bufiman.

AnotherTechnoParty feat. Mark Henning @ My Aeon
Presented by the BARBA crew, AnotherTechnoParty’s name says it all. This won’t be your run of the mill techno party, though, as the centrepiece of the night is a four-hour set from London gun Mark Henning. There are several shades to Henning’s sound, so expect a satisfying progression.
