For the past six months, inthemix and Smirnoff have been exploring the art of collaboration with some of Australia’s fastest rising dance talents. We chatted with Sydney’s summery house stars Set Mo about their radio-smashing tune Chasing Forever with singer Alphamama, and had club-banger merchant Benson talk us through his NSFW hit Hollow with Thom Crawford.

Now we’ve gone a step further, and asked both those acts – plus Melbourne young guns Indian Summer – to invite us into their studios to talk us through their process as they work on brand new tunes with rising local vocalists (scroll down to watch them all).

First up, Stu and Nick from Set Mo invited us along to watch them laying down vocal tracks with singer Erin Marshall…

Then we got Benson to invite us to “where the magic happens” – his bare-walled new studio – to give us an insight into how he works while cutting together vocal tracks from vocalist Marcus Azon (formerly of indie band Jinja Safari).

And finally, we sat down the Indian Summer boys and amazing vocalist Esther Sparkes and made them write a hit song from scratch for our amusement. Watch how that one played out below.
