Wave Racer returns with new single ‘Flash Drive’

It’s been a while between singles for Wave Racer but today, Sydney’s squeakiest beatmaker has returned with a track that we think you’ll agree is worth the wait. Flash Drive – only the second song with the word “drive” in the title to drop today – is the first single from Wavey’s forthcoming EP and you can hear it below.

The full four-track Wave Racer EP – his debut, officially – will arrive on October 16 through Future Classic. As well as Bâ–²by, his Flash Drive collaborator, the EP features work with fellow locals Cosmo’s Midnight and in-demand international Lido. It’s his first original work since Streamers dropped over a year ago, though producer Tom Purcell has remixed Ryan Hemsworth, Foster the People and Duke Dumont since then.

But if you’re hanging out to see Wave Racer at home, the wait might be a while – he’s just booked in an 11-date North American tour, kicking off at New York’s Electric Zoo festival in September and rolling through San Francisco, Los Angeles and Toronto before wrapping up TomorrowWorld, America’s version of the epic Belgian original.
