Watch the first English trailer for the new Daft Punk documentary

It was over a year ago that we first heard that the BBC and French network Canal Plus were working on an in-depth documentary about dance music’s biggest superstars Daft Punk, delving deep into the back story of the two mysterious Frenchmen who became a genuine global phenomenon.

Daft Punk Unchained promised a mix of rare archive and live footage with anecdotes from an A-list roster of interviewees, from their former manager Pedro Winter (Busy P) to Giorgio Moroder and cinema auteur Michel Gondry. The French-language version of the doco premiered on Canal Plus in June this year, with BBC Worldwide announcing that an official international sub-titled release would be coming later in 2015.

Unfortunately, we’re still waiting for that official worldwide release date, but we’ve now got the first English trailer for the film they’re billing as “the first ever documentary on the most secretive duo in the world.” Click play below for a revealing sneak peak of what’s to come from Daft Punk Unchained, including archive interviews with the duo and cameos by everyone from Kanye West and Pharrell to Nile Rodgers.
