Watch Nina Kraviz throw a rave in an actual cave
Last year, Siberian techno maestro Nina Kraviz launched a label dedicated to the “trippier, acidic side of electronic music.” She named it трип – that’s ‘Trip’ for any non-Cyrillic readers out there – and last month she headed to Iceland, the spiritual home of trippy and ethereal music, to throw a label showcase party with signees Exos and Bjarki, and special guest Blawan.
The showcase party itself took place in an intimate club in Reykjavík, but if you were lucky enough to be invited into the inner sanctum, Kraviz also threw a pre-party in – of all places – an Icelandic cave. The ‘90s DIY soundsystem vibes were out in full force, with a generator powering the soundsystem and a small crew of ravers throwing shapes in the spectacular location; to hammer home the ‘90s vibes, Icelandic production crew Eyk even shot the gritty, surreal two-minute aftermovie on VHS.
You can watch that clip below; трип continues its European odyssey with a party featuring Kraviz, Exos and Bjarki in a Barcelona warehouse tonight (Thursday 18 June).
