Watch: Musica Copa’s star-studded soccer tournament in action

A couple of weeks back, in between Stereosonic weekends, charity soccer tournament Musica Copa kicked off its inaugural edition. With teams from Future Classic, Modular, Sweat It Out, Elefant Traks, FBi Radio, Ministry of Sound, Mushroom Group, Motorik!, Pulse Radio, Stereosonic, Channel V and, of course, inthemix competing, Musica Copa got a rollcall of the Australian dance music industry’s biggest names together to battle it out for a good cause.

There were a few star players to boot, too – from Krewella and M4SONIC on the inthemix team to triple j’s Linda Marigliano on the Motorik squad, What So Not doing it for Sweat it Out, Dangerous Dan playing for Modular and Nick Thayer lacing up for MOS – the Musica Copa field boasted plenty of firepower. In the end, it was local label Sweat it Out who took the trophy, beating team-Stereosonic 7-3 in the finals.

The best bit? All up, Musica Copa raised a cool $2,667.97 for the St Vincent De Paul society, the charity of Sweat’s choice. If you missed the big day – or if you want to relive all the action – get stuck into the official gallery and video below. (And yes, the tournament will be back for 2014.)
