London legends Hot Chip dropped their sixth album Why Make Sense? back in May (packed with gems like Need You Now) and to celebrate they’ve undertaken a massive Northern summer-long tour across Europe and North America.
On Tuesday night they played New York’s Webster Hall and, as the footage below captured by Brooklyn Vegan shows, paid tribute to one of Brooklyn’s all-time greatest electronic bands LCD Soundsystem, by playing an on-point cover of the classic All My Friends in their encore.
Scroll down to watch the fun, fan-shot footage, featuring Hot Chip guitarist Al Doyle doing his best James Murphy impression; to ratchet-up the specialness, Hot Chip also invited LCD Soundsystem alumni Nancy Whang and Of Montreal member Sinkane onstage to help out with tambourines.
The band are playing their second sold-out Webster Hall show right now, but if you’ve missed them on their globetrotting so far, you’ll be able to catch them at a string of festival and arena shows between now and December, across North America, South America, Europe and the UK (dates here). Fingers-crossed for a 2016 Australian tour.
