Last month, Daft Punk locked in their first live appearance since 2014: a performance at this year’s Grammy Awards, playing alongside their latest collaborator The Weeknd.
Right now the 59th annual Grammy Awards are in full swing in Los Angeles, and the French robots have just stepped off stage. Thanks to one very speedy YouTube uploader you can watch Daft Punk and The Weekend do their hit single I Feel It Coming at the Grammys right now – but we’d advise getting stuck in before the video gets pulled down.
Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo last performed live at the 2014 Grammys, where they played Get Lucky with Pharrell, Stevie Wonder and Nile Rodgers. Despite persistent rumours that the robots will stage another world tour this year – they last toured ten years ago in 2007, and before that in 1997 – they’re still yet to announce any shows.
The 2017 Grammys have seen one big hit and one miss for Australian dance music – Flume picked up the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Music Album with his LP Skin, but lost out to The Chainsmokers in The Best Dance Recording category.
