Vivid Sydney announce their huge 2015 line-up

Vivid – Sydney’s annual celebration of light, music and art – has just revealed its 2015 schedule, which will spread over 18 days this May and June.

After locking in Morrissey last month, this morning the festival added almost half a dozen more international headliners to the line-up, from Chicago hitmaker Sufjan Stevens to Bill Callahan, TV On The Radio and local acts like The Preatures, The Drones and Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns, who recently relaunched his solo career.

For dance fans, there’s plenty to be excited about. As well as the debut Australian visit from Squarepusher – whose live show we’ve been hanging out for since 2012 – there’s two outdoor shows on the Opera House’s northern pavilion curated by tastemaking label Future Classic, to mark their tenth anniversary. Almost all of Future Classic’s current roster is on the bill, meaning sets from Flume, Flight Facilities, Seekae, Wave Racer, Hayden James, George Maple, Touch Sensitive and Charles Murdoch. It will be Flume’s only Australian performance for 2015.

Then there’s the studio parties. This year, Goodgod, Mad Racket, Astral People and Elefant Traks will all be hosting parties, with Red Bull throwing a free opening night bash headlined by Onra.

Vivid LIVE will take over the Sydney Opera House from May 22 to June 8. Head to the Vivid website for the full list of dates.
