Verdict’s in: Here are the 50 most blogged about artists of 2013

2013’s just about done and dusted, and End of Year list season is in full swing. Here at inthemix, we’ve already gone to work on our compilation of the year’s 100 best tracks and 10 acts to watch in 2014 (and we’ve got a couple more retrospectives coming before Christmas rolls around). HypeMachine, it seems, has been busy too. Today, the internet’s leading blog aggregator has given us its count of the 50 most blogged about artists of 2013.

As you’d hope, there’s more than a few dance artists in the list. Just like they did in HypeMachine’s mid-year assessment of the hottest artists on the internet, boy wonders Disclosure have snagged the top spot. James Blake has come in at #4, beating out Daft Punk at #6 and locals Jagwar Ma at #10. Flume didn’t escape HypeMachine’s attention, either – Sydney’s Harley Streten clocked in at a cool #25 and further down the list, Classixx, Four Tet, Empire of the Sun, Cut Copy, Mount Kimbie, Bondax and Chromeo all appear. You can check out the top 25 artists below, or head to HypeMachine for the full list.

By now, you probably don’t need to us to remind you just how big of a year Disclosure have had. Since its release in May, Brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence have seen their debut Settle nominated for the Mercury Prize and a Grammy, chart everywhere from Australia to Norway and spawn six hit singles.
