tyDi and Sander van Doorn hit Sydney’s Marquee this October Long Weekend
The Sydney branch of superclub brand Marquee recently took home the Nightclub of the Year award at September’s Australian Bar Awards and now they’re celebrating with an October long weekend line-up of trance-turned-EDM heavyweights. Queensland prodigy – and former inthemix number one DJ – tyDi is returning from an extended stay in the States to play on Saturday October 5, with heavyweight Sander van Doorn backing things up on Sunday October 6.
When we spoke to Sander van Doorn recently, he told us he’s been really enjoying working around a mixed bag of genres of late, saying “I love chaos, so I’d never focus myself on just one particular genre of music. With every set, I do something new – I never focus on just a single genre. Back when I was first buying vinyl, I’d buy house, techno, even gabber – if I loved it, then I’d find a way to mix it.”
Meantime, if you want more from tyDi than just a set, you can sit down with the two-time inthemix DJ of the Year award winner and hear about his music-making tips at a production masterclass in Brisbane as part of the Electronic Music Conference (EMC) in early December.
