The Stone Roses announce Future Music Festival sideshows

Featured on the Future Music Festival line-up alongside The Prodigy, Boys Noize, Feed Me and all the rest, Madchester legends The Stone Roses will also play three headline shows while in town for Future Music Festival next March. The classic Roses line-up of Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni will head up gigs in Brisbane on March , Sydney on March 6 and Melbourne on March 7.

We haven’t seen The Stone Roses in Australia since 1995, but the legendary band’s return to the live circuit after a sixteen year absence has been met with glowing reviews. After making their return in front of 240,000 fans in Manchester Stereogum declared that “the extended versions of ‘Fools Gold’ and the hotly anticipated climax of ‘I Am Resurrection’ … were undeniable highlights and proved that the years of incommunicado hadn’t eroded the rhythmic connection that made the Stone Roses the legends they once were and, on the strength of Saturday’s show, seem to be becoming all over again.”

March 2013 will see the Future Music Festival juggernaut head off around Australia, bringing an illustrious line-up along with it. The Prodigy is leading its Warrior’s Dance arena with Boys Noize, Feed Me, Kill The Noise and more, there’s The Stone Roses, Bloc Party, Dizzee Rascal and Azealia Banks on the live front, a Cocoon Heroes arena with Sven Vath at the forefront, plus a whole host of ITM favourites from the worlds of dubstep, trance, techno, house and more. All the action will be spread across two mainstages and a host of curated arenas, with Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide ticked off across two big weekends.

Wednesday, March 6 – Hordern Pavillion, Sydney

Thursday, March 7 – Festival Hall, Melbourne
