The Prodigy take Warrior’s Dance Festival to Serbia

If you were one of the rabid fans who managed to catch The Prodigy’s concert film World’s On Fire at the cinema last year, you’ll know just how incendiary their Warrior’s Dance Festival can get. World’s On Fire documents the second edition of the festival at Milton Keynes Bowl in the UK (the same place where the Swedish House Mafia are headed in 2012), which saw the headliners playing to a 65,000-strong crowd. You can check out the trailer below for a reminder of just how epic that show was.

Now, after a two-year break, the Warrior’s Dance Festival is plotting a return. Following stops in Tokyo in 2009 and the UK in 2010, this time The Prodigy are heading to the capital of Serbia, Belgrade, on 15 September. “Serbia and The Prodigy have a special longstanding relationship which began with the band’s first performance in 1995 to a sold-out hungry crowd,” the announcement professes, “creating a story that goes down in urban myth where they were granted the key to the city of Belgrade (which they soon lost!).”

After a crowning performance for the 10th anniversary of Exit Festival, the stage has been set for a landmark Warrior’s Dance. Oh yeah, and they’ve recruited Skrillex as the first support act – make of that what you will.
