The big first line-up for EMCPlay 2015 is in
Last year, EMCPlay debuted across four venues in Kings Cross, where 14 different parties were curated by Australia’s leading electronic labels and collectives. Skrillex rocked up, Motez went back-to-back with one half of Disclosure and over 120 talented locals got to show off their music to an audience of thousands. In short, it was a very good time.
So it’s a good thing that EMCPlay is coming back for 2015. Today, the Electronic Music Conference has locked in the first line-up for their night time schedule of events, and it’s big: L D R U, Nicole Millar, Mashd n Kutcher, Porsches, Indian Summer and Strange Talk are all on the bill, joined by fast-risers like Elk Road, Asdasfr Bawd, GXNXVS, Poolclvb and Vanessa Elisha. More acts are still to be announced, but you can see the line-up as it stands below.
This year, EMCPlay will go down on one night over three CBD venues. You only need one ticket to get into all the parties, and an EMCPlay early-bird – on sale until September 27 or until sold out – will set you back just $19. You don’t need an EMC delegate pass to get in, but if you have one, your EMCPlay entry is already included. The venues hosting this year’s parties will be announced later this month.
Over 150 local artists applied to be showcased at this year’s EMC – and with EMCPlay alumni spanning everyone from The Kite String Tangle to Slumberjack, SAFIA and Peking Duk, it’s not hard to see why. The artists featured in this year’s showcase will play to a room full of music fans, industry decision makers and international talent buyers in Australia exclusively for EMC.
