The 50 Most Powerful People In Dance Music 2014

Welcome to the second annual inthemix Power 50 – the list of the 50 most powerful people in dance music globally. The first inthemix Power 50 list has been read over 300,000 times online, making it one of the most popular features ever published on Clearly there is a lot of interest in the power players who are driving the explosion of dance music around the world.

This year’s list has been almost a year in the making. The inthemix global editorial team has conducted hundreds of hours of research and held conversations with over 100 industry leaders to compile the list and decide on the rankings.

So what is power? At its simplest, it’s the ability to influence the behavior of people around you to realize your vision. And dance music undoubtedly has more than its fair share of visionaries, as this list illustrates.

The goal of the inthemix Power 50 is to set the barometer of who in dance music is calling the shots right now, in 2014 – not over the course of history. Like last year, this list is not about DJs or artists. Sure, there are some DJs featured here who do make music, but they’re included because we believe their DJing is secondary to their business interests.

This list also marks the one-year anniversary of’s global expansion. In the 12 months since our launch, we have doubled our traffic. In January we recorded our biggest month of traffic in the site’s history, with more than 1.7 million global visits. This makes inthemix one of the world’s biggest dance music news media.

As the industry consolidates, we believe it’s important that there is a legitimate, independent, trusted and influential media platform that elevates the quality of conversation around all things EDM.

Introducing, the 2014 inthemix Power 50.
