The 10 biggest tracks at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event

The Netherlands’ annual dance music industry conference and city-wide mega festival Amsterdam Dance Event wrapped up on 20 October after more than 300 events in five days, featuring over 2000 artists with everything from epic parties at former gasworks complex Gashouder to a DJ Sneak Cook-Off competition. And while the artists and industry players chewed the fat over the big issues affecting dance music in 2013, music monitoring service DJMonitor was hard at work finding out what we really want to know: Out of all those parties, which tunes were defining the zeitgeist of ADE 2013?

Thanks to Shazam, we already know which tunes were the most searched in Ibiza this summer, and now we can reveal that the five most-played artists at ADE this year were, unsurprisingly, Showtek (#1), Hardwell (#2), Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike (#3), Nicky Romero (#4) and W&W (#5).

But while the Dutch big room and hard dance brigade may have been the most played overall, the list of the top ten most-played tracks goes a little deeper, revealing an obsession with everything from Deorro’s ‘Los Angeles Bounce’ to The Martinez Brothers techy, Latin-funk-flavoured take on Green Velvet’s swaggering Bigger Than Prince. Check out the full list below.
