Supermarket [Audio]: From Fringe to foreign shores
STREAMING AUDIO INTERVIEW
If you’ve had an ear out for new sounds and acts in Adelaide, you’ve probably caught a whiff of the new audio-visual act Supermarket. The brainchild of Dan Monceaux and Emma Sterling, the Supermarket project launched in New York last November but they’re now bringing its hybrid performance of electronic breakbeats and experimental cinema back to our shores.
After launching locally with sets at Shores on a New Year’s Day and support slots for Salmonella Dub and Calyx, Supermarket is now locked for three special Adelaide Fringe Festival performances this coming weekend. ITM’s Molnaro caught up with Dan for a chat before the shows, catching him between gasps as the duo prepare for the Fringe Festival and an imminent return to North America for further touring.
You can catch the Supermarket experience at the following shows, and check out their website for more information.
Thursday Feb 28 – Adelaide Fringe, Mercury Cinema
Saturday March 1 – Adelaide Fringe, Mercury Cinema
Sunday March 2 – Adelaide Fringe, Mercury Cinema
