Stereosonic 2012 ticket update

Last Thursday 2 August, Stereosonic 2012 hit Ticketmaster, and as predicted the tickets have been moving swiftly. An update from Stereo HQ confirms that first and second releases are sold out in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, with those three cities now onto third release. First release has sold out for Adelaide and Perth, so hop to it if you want to snag a second release ticket. Once you’ve secured your spot, the countdown to summer begins.

By now you’ve probably got acquainted with the line-up, from the headlining trifecta of Tiesto, Avicii and Calvin Harris, Carl Cox’s new techno-focused stage Revolution, the trance contingent led by Dash Berlin, Markus Schulz and Sander van Doorn, bass business from Excision and co., plus so much more. One standout feature of the line-up is the checklist of names that ITMers have been asking for. There’s the double-whammy of Gallic dream team Gesaffelstein and Brodinski, the much-awaited Zedd booking, Europe’s house heroine Nina Kraviz, the always-mind-messing Mr Oizo and fast-rising boy wonder Porter Robinson. Then there are hot topics in their respective scenes, like bass-heavy outfit Krewella and French party collective Club Cheval.

We went a bit deeper on what to expect from five acts representing different corners of the line-up – Mr Oizo, Carl Cox, Calvin Harris, Brodinski & Gesafflestein and Flux Pavilion – in the first instalment of the Stereosonic live preview. If you’re looking to go all-out on the Stereo hype, the festival is spruiking its new free iPhone wallpapers, with nine to choose from. You can download them from your phone here.
