Splendour’s RBMA stage adds big new dance names

When Splendour in the Grass hits Byron Bay next month, it’ll be bringing the Red Bull Music Academy along for the ride. Just as they’ve done at international festival favourites Sonar, Movement Detroit, Melt and more, in 2014 the RBMA is curating a stage at Splendour. As you’d expect, the cast they’ve assembled for it is a good one.

Already, RBMA Splendour had locked in sets from the likes of Peanut Butter Wolf, NGUZUNGUZU and a list of talented locals. Now, they’ve made some big additions. It’s just been announced that New York’s Nicolas Jaar will be at the Red Bull stage on Saturday night for a DJ set, while Warp name Africa Hitech will command a set on Sunday.

That’s not all – also bound for Byron are hotly-tipped songstress bAnoffee, the crazy-talented Oscar Key Sung, Melbourne’s Andras Fox and neo-soul ensemble Hiatus Kaiyote.

Red Bull Music Academy have also announced the line-up for their Thursday night pre-party and it’s similarly impressive. Homegrown legends wordlife, Indian Summer, Yahtzel and L D R U will all be at the Byron site the night before the festival kicks off to add some extra bang to your Splendour experience, keeping you warm ‘til the wee hours.
