Splendour in the Grass have unveiled their 2017 line-up and true to form, it’s big.
Queens of the Stone Age, Stormzy, LCD Soundsystem and The xx are all heading to Byron Bay this July, joined by some exciting electronic drawcards. Trap kingpin RL Grime is locked in for an Australian return, homegrown hitmakers Peking Duk will play and just as we suspected, Ninja Tune recruit Bonobo is also making the trip out.
Other Splendour-bound acts very much worth making the trip for include Father John Misty, HAIM, Banks, Schoolboy Q and Tove Lo. Local heroes like AB Original, Tash Sultana, King Gizzard and Dune Rats will also play sets.
Conspicuously absent from the line-up is Lorde, who’d been widely-tipped to headline this year’s festival off the back of her second album Melodrama.
This year’s Splendour in the Grass is set for July 21 – 23 at the North Byron Parklands. Tickets go on sale 9am sharp AEST on Thursday 6 April through Moshtix.
