Splendour announces replacement for London Grammar
London Grammar were set to perform at 7pm on the main Amphitheatre Stage, ahead of Interpol and Outkast. They were also slated for two sideshows – tonight (July 22) at Festival Hall in Melbourne and Thursday at the Hordern Pavillion in Sydney. “We are going to do everything we can to make sure we are back down under as soon as possible and will reschedule our Sydney & Melbourne shows and give you more details very shortly,” the band announced in a Facebook post late last night.
The English trio fronted by Hannah Reid were the second big act to pull out of Splendour In The Grass, following Two Door Cinema Club’s cancellation last week.. Two Door Cinema Club were quickly replaced on the lineup by Foals, while Nashville’s The Wild Feathers dropped out of the festival due to “unforeseen scheduling conflicts” and have been replaced by five-piece Byron Bay act MT Warning.
Splendour In The Grass takes place from July 25 to July 27 at North Byron Parklands with headline sets from Outkast, Lily Allen and City and Colour. Foster The People, Kelis, Childish Gambino, Chvrches, and Interpol plus local favourites including Violent Soho, The Kite String Tangle and Hilltop Hoods are also on the bill.
