Space Ibiza’s last-ever party will be massive…if you can get a ticket

Storied White Isle institution Space Ibiza is closing its doors for good in 2016, and the club is determined to go out with a bang. On Sunday October 2, the Space Closing Fiesta will take over the entire venue for, well, the party to end them all.

The Space Closing Fiesta, which comes in the dying days of every Ibiza season, is always a star-studded affair. This time around, it’s likely to feature its biggest lineup ever. Space has now begun to drip-feed the first names for 2016’s grand finale, while also making it quite difficult to secure a ticket. (More on that in a moment.)

As for the DJs confirmed so far, it’s a house and techno affair. There’s Space don Carl Cox and new Afterlife residents Tale Of Us leading the charge, plus Steve Bug, Josh Wink, Anja Schneider and Darius Syrossian. That’s really just a teaser for the avalanche of names still to come.

So, how do you nab a spot on the dancefloor to say farewell to Space? That’s proving kind of challenging. The club is releasing its tickets in a succession of limited releases, which all sell out swiftly. It’s all pretty patchy, with a stream of complaints on the club’s Facebook page mixed in with gloating from the people who got lucky. Your best bet is to keep your eyes trained on the event page and the Space Ibiza web shop. The first release of tickets cost 99 euros, including two free drinks, and you can expect the price to keep climbing.

Stay tuned for more names filling out the “many, many more” part of the lineup, and good luck securing a ticket. For an idea of the indoor/outdoor madness you should expect, check out the DJsounds report from the 2016 opening below.
