SoundCloud reveal their most popular artists and tracks of 2017

Last week, both Spotify and Beatport took a look back at the year that was and told us their top-ranking artists and tracks of 2017 —  with some pretty unsurprising results on both sides.

Now, it’s streaming giant SoundCloud’s turn. They’ve crunched the numbers from streams, shares, reposts, and likes to reveal those artists that we were vibing most in 2017. At the top, rapper Lil Uzi Vert has the Top Album of the year with Luv is Rage 2, while the Top Electronic Track went to Unlike Pluto with ‘Everything Black.’

Dutch DJ and producer R3hab took home the gong for Top Remixer, while the most remixed track of the year was (surprise fucking surprise) Ed Sheeran’s massive pop hit ‘Shape Of You’ (which our own Alison Wonderland took on earlier in the year.) The Top Remix though, was VMK and That Behaviour’s edit of ‘Despacito’.

SoundCloud also identified those cities that are driving creativity in the music world, with New York, London, Berlin, Jakarta, Hanoi, and Seoul all making the cut. Check out the full 2017 review below.
