Someone started a petition to move Jauz’s Stereosonic set time…and it worked
When Stereosonic first unveiled their 2015 set times, JAUZ was scheduled to hit the stage in Perth at 1.55pm. For the local fans who’d been hanging out for the first Australian tour from the new bass hero, that was – we quote – “way too early for filth bangers”.
So they did what any disgruntled fan would do – started a Change.org petition calling for JAUZ’s set time to be moved and clocked up close to 500 signatures in support. Miraculously, the petition worked. Take a look at Perth’s updated set times below and you’ll notice that JAUZ is now on in the much later slot of 8.15pm, wedged between Duke Dumont and DJ Snake on the Sonic Stage.
“Due to the overwhelming feedback we’ve received, we’re swapping JAUZ to a later set time in Perth,” Stereosonic told inthemix. “We have attempted to do this in Brisbane but due to scheduling clashes with other artists it is not possible.” Sydney and Adelaide punters can still catch JAUZ – real name Sam Vogel – at his original set time of 6pm, while Melbourne can catch the Los Angeles export at 2pm.
The other big news? This year, Stereosonic is partnering with Snapchat to present an official story at the Sydney leg of the festival. So if you get snapping the sets you’re front-and-centre for, the whole world could end up watching. Snapchat is also providing exclusive Stereosonic overlays in every city.
