Sebastian Ingrosso collaborating with Skrillex

Back in March, we got Swedish House Mafia don Sebastian Ingrosso on the phone for a post-house party brief and to hear what’s coming up for Swede. He let slip that he’d been working on a perhaps somewhat-unexpected collaboration: a hook-up with none other than he of the asymmetrical ‘do, Skrillex.

“Skrillex is an amazing person, a really good friend of mine,” he told us at the time. “Steve [Angello] and I worked with him the day before Christmas in LA with Ellie Goulding.” Now, Ingrosso’s revealed more details of the forthcoming-collaboration to Billboard. “We made a demo and it was amazing; we had a blast,” he explained. “Ellie and Skrillex came in 30 minutes late, and we had already started with a melody. Skrillex freaked out, he loved it, and after a few hours we wrote the song.” Those up-to-date with the gossip rags will likely already be aware that British singer Ellie Goulding is none other than Skrillex’s girlfriend.

Ingrosso was also quick to sing Skrill’s praises. “I remember when he was a kid and came to all our gigs and be like, ‘Oh what’s up guys, I’m making this dance music’ but we hadn’t really heard anything he’d made, and then all of a sudden he’s at the Grammys and took all the prizes.” He told inthemix. “He killed the dance scene, in a positive way…I think that Skrillex is the Marilyn Manson of today.”

But it looks like the collaboration is destined for Goulding’s next album rather than a SHM or OWSLA release. “I think it’s going to be for [Ellie’s] album, but in this business you don’t know until you see it on iTunes,” Ingrosso told Billboard.
