RL Grime’s annual Halloween mix has landed

Halloween may not officially arrive until October 31, but that doesn’t mean the treats can’t come early. Yesterday RL Grime revealed that his annual Halloween mix would arrive a few days ahead of schedule this year and just as promised, it’s landed right in time for your weekend party plans.

RL Grime’s annual Halloween mix is a tradition that now runs five years deep. Every spooky season producer Henry Steinway brings together the year’s best bangers with eerie overtones (and often a special guest narrator) for the mix, which is given away as a free download. The 2016 instalment is no exception: Halloween V runs for a full hour and features an intro from Pharrell, a shout-out from Goosebumps author RL Stine and theme music from this year’s Netflix sensation Stranger Things.

From there, listeners fall head-first into a heavy, bass-filled mix of hip-hop and trap fit for blasting from the car stereo while cruising in the dead of night. Get stuck into RL Grime’s fifth annual Halloween mix below; revisit his previous mixes here.
