Regional Australia gets a cool new festival

Whatever part of Australia you call home, this summer’s set to spoil you for choice when it comes to places to party. And it’s not just the major cities feeling the love – our regional centres have got plenty to cheer about too, like the just-announced new festival Hooch Fest.

Hooch Fest will take over Smart St Mall in Mandurah – about 45 minutes drive from Perth, WA – for one expertly-curated day of local and international dance music this December. Golden Features, Basenji, Sable, Indian Summer and UV boi are among the homegrown names on the bill, with Brooklyn talent Jubilee and genre-killer StéLouse flying over from the Northern Hemisphere to take the stage.

“A multi-venue, indoor/outdoor internet inspired adventure,” Hooch Fest happens on Saturday December 6. It’s the brainchild of Die High Records and party crew Hooch, “a bunch of kids who got sick of the same old shit and aimed to bring something new and exciting to the club environment.” Tickets are only $60 a pop and are on sale now; take in the full line-up below.
