Read the inside story of The Aston Shuffle’s hard road to success
In January this year inthemix launched Headliners, our new in-depth series that gets intimate with the biggest rising stars in dance music and brings together behind-the-scenes journalism with stunning photography and design. In January we spent a week on the road with the fast-rising Porter Robinson, and this month we hung out with one of Australia’s most beloved acts, The Aston Shuffle, as they prepared to launch the album that should propel them into the mainstream consciousness.
They’ve been on the verge of superstardom since 2007, and we’ve followed their evolution from Canberra’s ‘most likely to succeed’ crew of DJ/producers to becoming the most popular DJs in Australia in 2010.
Now, after a tough couple of years working on their sophomore album and dealing with label dramas, The Aston Shuffle are finally read to unleash their opus Photographs upon the world (check out the album and upcoming tour details here). Our writer Luke Ryan hung out with the ebullient duo and got the inside story on their hard road to success. Click below to find out for yourself.
