Porter Robinson and Madeon have been touring their collaborative single Shelter around North America together since September and now, Australia’s time has come.
Electronic music’s favourite BFFs have just added three dates Down Under to their tour schedule. They’ll play big venues in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane in late February, kicking off at Brisbane’s Riverstage before hitting the Hordern Pavilion and Melbourne’s Hisense Arena.
Madeon and Porter first got to know each other as beginners on music production forums, and the friendship has developed from there. Following the release of their solo albums – Porter’s Worlds in 2014, and Madeon’s Adventure the following year – they decided to try a team-up. As Madeon elaborates in a press release: “Both Porter and I started working with people in-person when we started making our respective albums and appreciated how much more collaborative you can get. Our intent was to make music that would reflect our friendship.”
Rather than one act playing after the other, these dates will see both guys sharing the stage in a special “back-to-back live show”. Tickets are on sale from Friday November 18 through the Secret Sounds website; watch the six minute short animation for Shelter below.
Friday 24 February – Riverstage, Brisbane
Saturday 25 February – Hordern Pavilion, Sydney
