Porter Robinson and Madeon’s new collab has fans flipping out
Porter Robinson and Madeon, two of electronic music’s brightest stars, have teamed up on a new song – and fans are getting very worked up. The two producers dropped their collaboration Shelter via social media overnight, and it’s exactly the kind of bright, pop-tinged anthem you’d expect from these two.
Madeon and Porter first got to know each other as beginners on music production forums, and the friendship has developed from there. Following the release of their solo albums – Porter’s Worlds in 2014, and Madeon’s Adventure the following year – they decided to try a team-up. As Madeon elaborates in a press release: “Both Porter and I started working with people in-person when we started making our respective albums and appreciated how much more collaborative you can get. Our intent was to make music that would reflect our friendship.”
The two friends aren’t just stopping at a studio collaboration, either. From September 29, they’ll hit the road across North America for the Shelter Live tour, which continues through to December 2. Rather than one act playing after the other, these dates will see both guys sharing the stage in a special “back-to-back live show,” as Madeon puts it. While most of the stops are locked in, the tour poster includes some blurred-out destinations that are still to be revealed.
