Peking Duk have teamed up with UK duo AlunaGeorge for their new banger, ‘Fake Magic’. It’s the Aussie duo’s first new track of 2017, following on from ‘Stranger’ featuring Elliphant, released last November.
“We spoke about the idea of a woman coming into a man’s life and showing him the real magic in this world, an alternative world that is not weighed down by fake highs and material disappointment,” singer Aluna Francis said of the track. “I’ve been that girl occasionally, so the lyrics came from a real place.”
This isn’t AlunaGeorge’s first foray into Australian electronic music; last year they also collaborated with Flume on ‘I Remember’, taken from his Grammy-winning album Skin.
Peking Duk have just wrapped a massive Aussie tour, and they’ll be ripping apart the dance floor at Splendour in the Grass next month. Meanwhile, AlunaGeorge last visited Australia over NYE 2017, and are currently travelling around on a huge US and European tour.
