After months of renovations, Erskineville’s beloved Imperial Hotel is set to reopen next month.
The popular LGBTQ nightspot has been closed for renos since last September, following a precarious two years in which they were threatened with permanent closure by the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing. But now the venue is back, writing on their Facebook page that they’ll be kicking off proceedings with a massive weekend of parties in honour of Mardi Gras.
It gets underway on Friday March 2 with a Drag Extravaganza and Priscilla tribute show, followed by a night of cabaret, DJ sets, and Indigenous drag performances on Saturday. If you can go another night, then there’ll be a Hungover AF party on Sunday.
Best of all? There’s no lockouts to be seen.
