The official Trainspotting 2 trailer has landed
Early next year, the long awaited sequel to Danny Boyle’s cult flick Trainspotting will finally arrive – and you can see the first full length trailer for T2 right now.
It’s been 20 years since Boyle adapted Irvine Welsh’s first novel into a gritty, fast-paced, sometimes humorous and often tragic film about the lives of heroin addicts in late 1980s Edinburgh. Two decades later, Trainspotting is still regarded as one of the greatest movies of all time and with a soundtrack that centres on Underworld classic Born Slippy, it’s one that holds a special place in the heart of dance fans.
The sequel is based on Welsh’s follow-up novel Porno, which charts the lives of Renton, Sick Boy, Spud and Begbie ten years later as their paths cross again, this time in the pornography industry. The entire gang got back together for T2: Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Johnny Lee Miller and Ewan Bremner are all back to reprise their roles, Danny Boyle is back in the director’s seat and the script for the sequel was penned by John Hodge, who wrote the original Trainspotting adaptation.
T2: Trainspotting hits Australian cinemas on February 2. Watch the trailer below.
