New dance festival The Plot drops head-turning line-up
Last month, Groovin the Moo announced it was expanding. The team at Australia’s most successful rural travelling festival revealed they were giving GTM a new sister festival dubbed The Plot, which promised to be “an exciting new party in Sydney and Melbourne that will put the Tron in electronic and the dance in your pants”.
Details were scarce then but today, The Plot’s announced its inaugural line-up. We’ve got to hand it to them, the brand new event has rounded up a very nice cast: France’s DJ Snake, the man behind the inescapable Bird Machine, is locked in as the bill’s lone international. Then there’s a rollcall of Australia’s best electronic names: Miami Horror, Alison Wonderland, Touch Sensitive, Wave Racer, Elizabeth Rose, Willow Beats, Tyler Touche, Indian Summer, Naysayer & Gilsun, Gold Fields, Beni, Hayden James and more will all be there. The best bit? A ticket will set you back just $45.
The Plot hits Sydney’s Luna Park on Saturday December 14 and rolls onto Melbourne’s Palace Theatre and Ding Dong Lounge on Sunday December 15. It’s bad news for underage dance fans, though – unlike it’s sister festival Groovin the Moo, The Plot is 18+ only.
There’s a interactive element, too. “The event is supported by an online membership platform,” the press release explains. “Upon purchasing a ticket you get to pick a digital plot of land alongside the artists and other party-goers on the event website. You can then start a profile, share music and photos, chat, tweet and instagram and be neighbourly with fellow plotters and musicians. In the days leading up to the event The Plot will become more and more interactive with online events and competitions, ending of course in the best offline party of your cyber life!” Tickets are on sale now.
