Movement Detroit lock in a very unusual 2017 headliner

If you only make the pilgrimage to one international festival this year, Movement Detroit is a pretty good bet.

The legendary techno event returns to Detroit’s Hart Plaza from May 27 – 29, and we think you’ll agree their 2017 line-up is as good as they come. A cast of techno’s biggest names (think Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Seth Troxler…) are all on the bill, but the most brow-raising inclusion on this year’s line-up is one Joel Zimmerman. The serial antagoniser also known as Deadmau5 is headlining day two of the festival under the guise of Testpilot, his techno alias.

In 2015, Movement topped our list of the 20 places every techno fan needs to party. “Those who’ve been describe it as an affirming experience a world away from the bling and bluster of mainstream dance festivals, where you can connect with like-minded believers without the sea of kandi,” we endorsed. “Movement isn’t just a festival, it’s a pilgrimage – one that every techno fan worth their weight needs to tick off.”

Take in the full line-up below – tickets are on sale now starting at USD$155; flights over will set you back a little bit more.
