Mexico’s BPM Festival is a very good way to start 2014

Over the years, inthemix has devoted no shortage of space to singing the praises of Mexico’s BPM festival. After all, it’s a pretty easy sell: over ten days around the beachside town of Playa Del Carmen on the Mayan Rivera, BPM brings the best names in dance music out for parties set on white sand beaches, in mysterious jungles and around ancient ruins. In fact, it’s so tantalising a prospect that we awarded in the #5 spot in our list of 25 Festivals to Discover Before You Die.

If you’ve been looking for an excuse to make the pilgrimage, let BPM’s 2014 line-up persuade you. The festival has just delivered its Phase 1 bill, and it’s predictably huge. Already, everyone from Brodinski to Carl Craig, John Digweed, Sasha, Skream, Seth Troxler and more have all been locked in, with labels like Culprit, Innervisions, Drumcode and more all doing showcases. So it’s no wonder, then, BPM was crowned International Festival of the Year by Ibiza’s DJ Awards. Take in the full thing below…and did we mention this is only the first phase of the line-up?

This year, BPM is set for January 3-12. If you’re ready to take the plunge, grab a 3-day, 7-day or 10-day ticket from the BPM website now. Then brace yourself for a truly epic festival experience.
