Melbourne gets a new one day festival

This month, event series For The Love will hit Melbourne for the very first time. The premise is simple: round up a good crew, programme some party-starting music and take advantage of the summer weather. This time, the fun’s going down on Australia Day eve – that’s January 25 – kicking off at 1pm and running until after the sun sets at 9pm.

And headlining For The Love’s latest are two of Australia’s most successful DJs: sister act NERVO, who’ll be back in the country from their adopted home for L.A. for the party. They’ll be supported by a cast of local favourites, from Kaz James and Grant Smillie to Finnebassen, Generik and Andy Murphy. It all happens on South Beach Reserve at the St Kilda Foreshore, and you can grab tickets for a very reasonable $60 through the website now.

It’s not just the tunes you have to look forward to: For The Love also promises to deliver an all star line-up of Melbourne’s best eateries and premium drinks to keep you refreshed. “We wanted to deliver an event that brings everyone together for one afternoon to really showcase and encapsulate what Melbourne has to offer in terms of music, fashion, food & culture,” director Ben Tucker explained. Sounds good to us.
