Melbourne festival Petting Zoo drop a seriously ace 2017 line-up

In their inaugural year, Melbourne street festival The Petting Zoo brought the likes of Rodriguez Jr., Tube & Berger, Teenage Mutants and Dashdot to the stage. They’ll be back at it again in 2017, and they’ve locked in another mint line-up for round two.

Norwegian producer Finnebassen, German tech house duo Format:B and Belgium dance icon Kolombo are leading the charge for the internationals, alongside British duo Camelphat — who’ll be making their Australian debut later this year. On the local front, they’ve enlisted selectors like Steve Ward, Boogs, Luke Vecchio and Dr Packer.

The festival will also introduce its ‘Battle Stage’ this year, where local crews will fight it out for the title of being ‘King Of The Zoo.’ Check out the launch vid below.

Petting Zoo is Melbourne’s very first open air street party, and while the 2017 location is still under wraps for now, organisers have promised it’ll be bigger and better than ever. Apart from the tunes, there’ll be a heap of great food and “zoo-themed” drinks to keep you going, as well as art installations set up around the venue.

It’s all happening Saturday, December 16. Tickets are on sale now.
