Earlier this week a Chinese radio station jumped the gun and played Major Lazer’s new single days before it was due to drop, a move we’d wager Diplo didn’t sign off on.
Today, that track – called Cold Water – has officially arrived, and it sounds a lot better than it did in the leaked radio rip. Cold Water features both rehabilitated popstar Justin Bieber and Danish talent MØ and is the lead single from Major Lazer’s next album, which is due to arrive in January.
Both vocalists on the track have worked with Diplo before: dance music’s everywhere man first collaborated with Justin Bieber last year on the Jack Ü anthem Where Are Ü Now, which took home the Grammy for Best Dance Recording, went three times platinum in the U.S. and landed at #4 on inthemix’s list of 2015’s best tracks. MØ featured on last year’s supersized hit Lean On.
