Listen to Seth Troxler’s “freaky jams” Essential Mix

Techno’s resident prankster Seth Troxler is headed our way this NYE period to hit up Sydney’s Field Day and Victoria’s Beyond The Valley, but before boarding that long haul flight he’s got a few more Northern Hemisphere summer dates to finish off, like the UK’s recent Bestival, where Troxler recorded his live set for Pete Tong’s Essential Mix.

While acts like Duran Duran and Charli XCX headed up Bestival’s other stages, Troxler closed the Port stage on the festival’s Friday night, following on from sets by the likes of Four Tet and Guy Gerber with an ID-heavy two hours of low-slung acid and techno – including plenty of fresh material from Troxler’s imminent artist album (which we can expect to drop “around April next year”).

“I’m gonna just be a weirdo,” Troxler said in the Essential Mix intro. “I haven’t really thought about what I’m gonna play; I never really do… You can expect some freaky jams from the freak himself.”
