Listen: Tiësto goes back to the ’90s in two-hour mix

Over the weekend, Dutch goliath Tiesto made his way to Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, to do what he does best: go large on a Main Stage. As we wrote of his TomorrowWorld set in our day one wrap-up: “If you’ve seen a Tiësto set recently, you’ll know that the superstar DJ likes to switch it up. He tends to start with current dance tracks, dives into his classic trance discography – sometimes taking the BPM up to near-hardstyle tempos – and finishes off with current EDM.” As he put it succinctly to inthemix: “I’m truly a fan of all sorts of sounds, and without a doubt you’ll hear all sorts of styles in my set.”

While he’s not usually one to dwell in the past, the DJ allowed himself to get nostalgic on a recent episode of his Club Life radio show. For Club Life 388, Tiësto revisited some of his favorite records from the ‘90s, the decade that brought him his first wave of DJ stardom. We’re talking seminal tracks like Underworld’s Born Slippy, Moby’s Go and Energy 52′s Café Del Mar, so you can take that trip right here.

Tiësto has enjoyed switching it up this year, launching a radio spin-off dedicated to deep house, while also working trap into his sets and onto his label Musical Freedom. He bypassed a residency in Ibiza to focus on Las Vegas, committing to a lengthy stint inside Sin City’s new multi-million-dollar mega-club Hakkasan and at the Wet Republic pool. Then there are his festival commitments, from Electric Daisy Carnival in Vegas and London to ID&T’s Tomorrowland/TomorrowWorld double. Hit play below to take his trip through the ‘90s, a vintage time for electronic music.
