Listen to the Holy Ship set that will make you wish you were there

Back in 2015, Gary ‘Destructo’ Richards resurrected a legendary dance music tradition: the Sunrise Sermon.

Years before he was the head of HARD Events and the captain of floating festival Holy Ship, Richards would throw after-hours warehouse raves in Los Angeles. Called ‘The Sermon’, the parties would start at 6am and go right through the sunrise, with Destructo gowned in a priest’s robes and delivering the gospel of house and hardcore to his loyal flock.

Onboard the last couple of years at Holy Ship, Destructo has brought the Sunrise Sermon back for the hard-partying Shippers still kicking on in the early hours of the morning. With the 2017 edition of Holy Ship now done and dusted, this year’s mix has just landed and it’s particularly epic – clocking in at nearly three hours long, it features classics from the likes of Giorgio Moroder and Maceo Plex.

Get stuck in below – in keeping with tradition there’s no tracklist, so you’ll want to have Shazam at the ready.
