Let Them Eat Cake drops stellar NYD 2014 line-up
On New Year’s Day 2013, Let Them Eat Cake debuted in Melbourne in style. The boutique electronic festival brought the likes of Flying Lotus, the Gaslamp Killer, Kerri Chandler, Theo Parrish and a packed crowd to the manicured gardens of Werribee Park, kicking off 2013 with quality tunes, roaming art performances, pop-up artisanal food and some well-stocked bars. After announcing they’d be doing it all again next New Year’s Day in August, today the team at Let Them Eat Cake have unveiled their 2014 line-up.
We’re pleased to say they’ve rounded up a very impressive cast: In alphabetical order, punters can look forward to sets from the likes of house don Bicep, German innovator DJ Koze, Flo Jam hitmakers Dusky, UK maestro James Holden and Julio Bashmore, who’s currently at work on his debut album. Want more? Let Them Eat Cake have also recruited Hyperdub head Kode9, Sydney-bred favourite Mark Pritchard, Brainfeeder alumni Tokimonsta and Miami-via-Boston double team Soul Clap for the big day, and that’s not the half of it. Top to bottom, it’s a damn fine bill – take it all in below.
LTEC also promises cutting edge art, a very promising “food rave”, secret cocktail bars and a selection of your favourite local DJs. The festival is set for Werribee Park again, and tickets go on sale from 9am on Wednesday October 8 for $135 a pop through the Let Them Eat Cake website. “So frock-up, turn on and tune out in a regal wonderland,” the press release puts it. “Be prepared for a plush journey into the sublime which welcomes 2014 in lascivious luxury.”
