Join the campaign to keep this iconic international club open

Sitting just behind Ibiza’s best and biggest, Brazil’s famous Green Valley and BCM in Spain is Zouk Singapore, #7 on DJ Mag’s list of the Top 100 Clubs in the world. For the last 23 years, Zouk’s been a Singapore nightlife institution, but now the club is under threat of closure.

Singaporeans are rallying to save Zouk following the news that the lease for the club’s current world-class venue will expire at the end of the year. So far, the club’s owners have been unable to extend their lease or find a suitable alternate venue. “No extension. No new venue despite our best efforts to secure one,” promoters wrote on Save Zouk, an online campaign to stop the club from closure, which has so far raked in over 25,000 signatures in support.

According to the South China Morning Post, the past few years have seen many new residential developments in the club’s current neighbourhood, with new residents complaining about noise and rubbish left behind by patrons.

The team at Zouk are also responsible for the annual ZoukOut festival – one of our picks for the 25 Festivals to Discover Before You Die – which hits Singapore’s Siloso Beach every December. “We’re planning our last ZoukOut this year + a series of big bang parties before our lease on Jiak Kim Street expires at the end of this years,” the club wrote on their website. To do your bit to keep Australasia’s best club open, head to Save Zouk now and register your support.
