James Blake confirms his next album is “50% done” and has big-name collaborators

James Blake has revealed that the follow-up to his Mercury Prize-winning album Overgrown is “50 percent” done and, if all things go to plan, is currently set for release in early 2015.

Blake revealed the information in an interview with Billboard backstage at Bonnaroo festival, where the UK singer performed over the weekend. He also let slip that he has been working on the record with ‘Fall Creek Boys Choir’ collaborator Justin Vernon (AKA Bon Iver), in addition to “sporadically” writing with Kanye West “when he’s around”. (Blake also recently contributed the ethereal vocal hook to Drake’s latest track 0-100.)

While he remained tight-lipped on whether either of those collaborations will make the final cut, Blake did mention a mysterious third collaborator that he is “really excited about…” Watch the full interview below.
