Ultra Music Festival in Miami stepped up with its biggest year yet in March, taking place across two weeks for the first time, and solidifying itself as one of the world’s key festivals. Ultra’s blockbusting year isn’t over yet, though, as the festival will be expanding into another continent this weekend when Ultra Europe debuts in Croatia. And inthemix will be there for the three-day event to bring you the live updates as they happen.
Attendees will be treated to a line-up that in every sense captures the mainstage mania the Miami event has come to represent, with the headliners including Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Avicii, Carl Cox, Chase & Status and Hardwell. Also, recently added at the top-line is the bass-bending duo Knife Party. Naturally, though, the rest of the dance spectrum will be properly represented over the three days, with sets due from techno kingpins like Adam Beyer, Guy Gerber and Marco Carola, over to an assortment of other EDM faves like Nicky Romero, Porter Robinson and Sander van Doorn.
It’s the amazing setting, though, that should make Ultra Europe even more memorable. Croatia has already established itself as a premier party destination, with smaller-scale events like Hideout taking place last weekend. Ultra Europe has gone down a particularly tantalising route, holding the Friday and Saturday parties at the Poljud Stadium in the mainland of Split, before hopping over on Sunday for a ‘beach party’ on the island of Hvar headlined by U.S. showman and UMF regular Steve Aoki.
Daily updates, photos, interviews, live sets: stay tuned to inthemix over the weekend. After the huge success of the YouTube live stream from the Miami weekender, Ultra will be streaming key sets from Croatia, including Nicky Romero, Porter Robinson and Luciano at UMF TV.
