inthemillenium: An 01.01.01 retrospective
|One month has past… have you kept your resolution, are you now back at work, preparing for Uni, still recovering, or haven’t you even stopped partying yet? It has now been one month since that over-hyped, cliché, almost always disappointing night of hedonistic revelry and debauchery known as New Years Eve.|
A flood of bigger-than-ever NYE parties engulfed the country to celebrate the 2000/2001 (real) Millennium new year, and to summarise, they weren’t as successful as predicted due to, and compared to, an over-the-top year before (that ‘other’ Millennium celebration).
No matter what part of the country you were in, the dance music and club industry showed its strength in the amount of large scale celebratory parties starring your favourite DJs. Exorbitant prices, over crowding (and under crowding) and losing the plot for the night were recurring themes… Just in case you missed any of it, ITM has compiled a NYE & NYD recollection of what you guys did… or didn’t do for that matter ;-).
