An international headliner has pulled out of Listen Out

Atlanta rapper Future has pulled out of his remaining Listen Out appearances due to the unexpected death of a close friend back in the US.

The festival announced the news on their Facebook page a short time ago, offering the rapper their condolences and confirming that he won’t be playing the remainder of his tour dates in Australian and New Zealand.

“In extremely sad news, a very close friend of Future’s has passed away and as a result he is rushing back to the US for the funeral,” organisers wrote. “As you can imagine we’re devastated. We offer Future our condolences in this difficult time and we know his fans will too.”

The festival is due to land in Sydney and Brisbane this weekend — organisers are currently working on a replacement act for Future on the bill. See their full post below.
