I Love Techno 2013’s not-strictly-techno line-up begins
It’s a running joke around these parts that every year, Belgium’s I Love Techno festival gets a little less techno. Over the years, the team behind the long-running one-day party have proven a few times over that they also love a bit of house, bass and electro too. The first names on I Love Techno’s 2013 bill are in and true to form, a wide range of styles are represented.
Leading the charge is French gun Gesaffelstein, who’s still riding the success of his mighty June single Pursuit. Joining him is trap wonder Baauer, new house heroes Disclosure in live form, Russian heroine Nina Kraviz and the ever-divisive Bloody Beetroots, who’re gearing up to drop a new album next month. Gallic whizz Laurent Garnier’s booked too, Maxim of The Prodigy will be doing a DJ set and Dusky, Miss Kittin, Digitalism and RL Grime will also be making the journey to Ghent’s Flanders Expo. But this is only the first round of names – plenty more are still to come.
Just like they were last year, tickets are still just €56 a pop and if the first announcement has you sold, you can pick them up from the website now. Also yet to be announced is who’s on mixing duties for this year’s I Love Techno release – in previous years, the annual compilation has been manned by the diverse likes of Erol Alkan, Steve Aoki, Cassius and Crookers. I Love Techno hits Ghent on November 9 – check out the full first round of names below.
