The huge first line-up for EMC Academy has been announced
If you’re a budding DJ, producer, manager, promoter, booker, or anything else within the electronic music industry sphere, you’ll want to check out the lineup for this year’s EMC Academy.
EMC Academy is a two day program that runs as part of December’s Electronic Music Conference. Tailored towards those starting out in the industry, the Academy will feature a series of masterclasses run by some of Australia’s leading producers, alongside panel discussions featuring a slew of high profile industry names.
Dance legend Tom Piper is back again as host of the program, leading a stellar first round of speakers including Ministry Of Sound’s Anna Fitzgerald, head of etcetc Aden Mullens, Falcona’s Ben Robinson, and Monique Rothstein of PR firm Positive Feedback.
The masterclasses are similarly star studded: award winning producer Elizabeth Rose, LRDU, Indian Summer, Yahtzel, KLP, and Paces. This year, the masterclass format is getting a do-over: attendees will get to witness the artists collaborating and creating two tracks from scratch over the two days. The classes will focus on everything from the development of synth and drum sounds, down to the nitty gritty of mastering and mixing.
Check out the full lineup of Academy speakers below. They join the likes of Amsterdam’s Night Mayor, Mirik Milan, Bionic League’s Martin Phillips, and Music Victoria’s Patrick Donovan. All up, over 150 speakers will be announced.
Now is the last chance to grab an early bird ticket for EMC, as they end at midnight on Wednesday September 28. EMC will take over the Ivy in Sydney’s CBD from from Monday November 28 to Friday December 2, with the EMCPlay showcases happening on Wednesday, November 30.
